April Blogging Challenge Day 12 (5 Blessings)
Write about five blessings in your life.
1. Friends. I have the best friends anyone could want in this world. They support me in many ways and keep me strong. I don't know if I'd even want to go on without my friends. They make me happy to be alive and give me the desire to keep moving forward.
2. Shelter. I have a nice enough place to live. The building I live in, is not the best in the world, but I can afford it, being it is keyed to the amount of income you get. The people in this building seem to all be very nice people. I have not run into anyone in the six or more years that I've lived here, that I would say is not friendly.
3. Internet. With the internet I can stay in my apartment away from strangers and still communicate with friends in so many ways. I have several chats going every day, and the one group chat is always going, and we talk about a lot of things and support each other as if we were family. I feel the love.
4. Moose Jaw. I love living in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada. There is no other place I have been in my life that I'd rather live. This community has all you need. It's not a big city and still has the small town feel. Sadly due to drugs, there is a lot more crime than I'd like, However the people here are mostly nice people who are willing to help. Charity is never left handing here and people are always willing to give to a good cause.
5. Social Medical Coverage. In Canada the provinces are responsible for health care to it's people. In Saskatchewan, we don't have the best in the world, or even the best in Canada. However, I have great need for doctors, and even the Emergency Ward. At least 3 times a year I end up in the ER for one thing or the other. I can count on one hand how many times I've felt neglected in the last decade. Sadly before that, I felt neglected rather often. But things have improved and I feel safe and cared for in the ER here now. Wait times are terrible to say the least, but if you are in great need, you get in sooner - this is to be expected. Even diagnostic tests are seriously expensive in some countries. A CT scan would be unaffordable to me for example in the USA. I honestly think that if I was born in the USA, that I'd have died on the street years ago, and there is no way you will change that thinking. That we have the option to be put down if we end up with a terrible diagnosis like stage 4 cancer or dementia, is a great comfort to me as well.
P.S. I wish that pets medical needs where covered by taxes as well. People like me can't afford vet bills, and a pet would vastly improve my life.
