The Silence of the Lambs, Se7en, and The Bone Collector reviewed

Image
The Silence of the Lambs (1991) IMDB 8.6/10 ME 9/10 In this film we have the main character who is an FBI agent in training. She is tasked to help find a serial killer with the aid of another serial killer who is a cannibal. She seeks his advice and information on the serial killer she is hunting. For this she needs to give the captured serial killer information of a personal nature. Although reserved and refined, Dr. Hannibal Lector is indeed a monster driven by the desire to dominate and eat the flesh of his chosen victims. The man who the agent (Clarice Staling) is looking for is referred to as Buffalo Bill and has been said to be modeled after a real person. Bill is a truly disturbed person who wants to be a woman, by putting on a skin suit made from actual women he has killed. There is a couple of twists in this movie that should be easy to see coming - however the story is just so darn good, that one can overlook this. The acting is top notch and the script was amazing. There is...

Gifted (2017) A Review

Image
Gifted (2017)  Is the story of a 7 year old girl and her uncle who is taking care of her. The child is extremely gifted in the field of mathematics. This runs in the family, as her mother was as well, and so was her grandmother. To a lesser extent her uncle was also very intelligent. We pick up the story when the uncle is fixing boats freelance and taking care of the girl in a small rental home in Florida. He has schooled her at home before she goes to school (1st grade) and the teacher realized just how smart she is and how much knowledge of math she actually has. To say the least most people on earth don't have the knowledge of math that this 7 year old has. Enter the grandmother and we find out that the girls mother killed herself and that the uncle blames himself for not seeing the signs before it was too late. The grandmother wants the child to go home with her and to be schooled in math the was she schooled her daughter (the child mom). After a legal battle, the child ends up...

Tetley Chocolate Mint and Chai Tea Reviews

Image
The mint is not too strong, but it's just enough to have a nice taste to it. The chocolate is dark and rich tasting. The overall experience is very pleasant. There is an artificial sweetness to it, that is a little too much, but not to the point it puts me off. It's a black tea BTW and I prefer black tea in general to white or green. It has a string, so it's easy to handle and keeps fresh longer in individual packets. There are only 20 in the box, so price per unit is a bit higher than some other teas, but I think it's worth a slight bit more to get this. It's not the best I've ever had, but it was better than average and I could drink this every day. It would be nice with some cookies or even some cheese and grapes. To be exact, I think sweetbread cookies would be the best with this. I'd give it a 7/10 for price and taste, it's good most times of the day, but I think for breakfast, I think it would be a bit much, unless you had a rich breakfast. This wa...

With a Little Help From My Friends

Image
Once again, when I'm in need my good friends provide for me. I asked for help with the tomatoes, and I got the tea as well off my wishlist. I'm so grateful that I have friends that can help and want to help. I so wish I could help people, but I really can't most of the time, unless they just need someone to talk with. I've done a tone of photo editing for people though, I can do that at least. Our world is filled with a great number of people who only care about themselves it seems, but there are still good people out there who care care about people and want to help - I don't want to live in a world of nothing be people only looking out for themselves, so I'm glad they exist. I know several people who work extra hard in life, just to be able to help others. These people are a blessing for God and we should appreciate them.

Today In 3 Photos and Some Text LOL

It was nice to have a cup of coffee today. Most days I feel cold, and today is a bad one for that. I am freezing today. I got the heat up to 80 F and I am cold A.F. But this is nothing new for me at all. Also nothing new is that I've been having panic attacks all day long. They tend to last about 20 or 30 minutes, but I get them every hour or 2. But coffee is a great pleasure and I'm grateful it does not trigger my Fibromyalgia. I also don't tend to be kept awake by it. It doesn't tend to give me that amped up and awake feeling most people get from it. In fact I can drink a cup, and go to bed 30 minutes later and sleep as well as I ever do. That being said, I've had insomnia since I was 10 years old (48 years of it to date). It's a bother and I can go several days with almost no sleep at all. It really gets my brain fogged out though, not to mention any body or joint pain is increased by lack of sleep. Lentil and veggie soup was on the menu today. It's what ...

Health Care Rant

Image
Got a new doctor just in time. My old one is leaving Saskatchewan. This is the 3rd time in a row a doctor I had moved out of province after the 1 year time frame needed to keep the money given them to move here by the Saskatchewan Government. Got to wonder how many of them only came here to get practical experience, and bank the government money, then move to a bigger city to earn more money. I find this reprehensible, but it seems to be happening - it happens just far to many times to think there is another explanation. All new doctors, fresh out of school, and all stay just long enough to be able to keep the money. I seriously hope this new doctor stays here. It is hard A.F. to find a doctor here as we are very short on them in Saskatchewan. Moose Jaw in particular seem to be always short of doctors and a heck of a lot of people never find one, and end up going to the ER, and clogging it, so the wait times are extremely long when someone actually needs the ER, because most of the peo...
