It's Almost Halloween
I hated when I got McDonalds coupons. Even as a kid I was not fond of their bland food. Then there was always someone that tossed in a toothbrush and a small tube of toothpaste. What kind of sick person does this? Your supposed to be giving us candy.
I never did go to a Halloween party as a child, but as an adult I went to many of them in the day. It was the thing to do back then. Later on we all just ended up at the bar - there was always a cover charge, but it was always fun as heck.
I fondly remember doing the monster mash on the dance floor. I literally don't recall how it went, but I do remember it was a big part of the fun at the time. I never won a prize for my costume, but that was not important to me, the time spent with friends and the time dancing with random ladies was memorable and has stayed with me for decades.
Now on Halloween, I turn on the security camera feed and watch the front door. They set up a table there, and let the kids in and give them a lunch bag full of candy and a bag of chips. I do enjoy seeing the children and the look of joy on their faces.
After I watch a few movies and then it's off to bed. I always watch Rocky Horror Picture Show, it's a tradition that goes back years. I remember them playing it at midnight on Halloween in the Capital Theater. We would literally dress up and sing along with the songs. It was an amazing experience. I think it was the roll of a lifetime for Tim Curry. No one could have done it better in my mind. He was the part.
