Beans and Veggies and Some Coffee

1. Well, the store was out of my canned tomatoes, so I could not get more of them. I have 2 cans left, so for a while I'll be eating the bean mix with no tomatoes and dry like this. Not nearly as good, but of well. At least I got some nice fresh veggies to munch on yesterday (should have taken a phot, but did not). It looks so boring, and is, but it's good for you and there are next to no carbs in it and no salt at all.

2. Since the Moka pot died, I've been using this crappy French press. The coffee is not even close to as good as it is with the Moka pot. A friend ordered one off my wish list, and it should be showing up today. I'll be very happy to have a Moka pot again. The coffee from them is just 100X better.

3. It's all ready to go. My favorite mug is waiting for the black gold to be put in it. BTW the mug says, "I enjoy a good spanking". I've had some interesting reactions from it in the past LOL. I've also got one that says, "I'm not gay, but my asshole is". Then there is the Doctor Who mug, the Pusheen mug, my Vanity mug with my face on it, and one with Moms face on it. I used to have a hell of a lot of coffee mugs, but I got rid of probably 40 of them before I moved here.

4. This kettle needs to be scrubbed, it's got tomato sauce all over it and I think it might be burned onto it. So it might be a task from hell to get it all off of the kettle. It works like a charm though. Never lets me down. I don't like the electric ones, and never have liked them. The electric ones tend to be faster however. In any event, it's good  for a cup of tea, or in this case a crappy low quality coffee.

Saskatchewan Assured Income for Disability (SAID) is the program that is supposed to be helping me as a disabled person to survive. Yesterday (Aug 29, 2024) I was supposed to get paid by them directly into my bank account. It never showed up and I have literally no idea on earth why this is happening to me. I emailed the minster of social services and asked them to get someone to call me and explain so I can fix this. This was at 3 AM give or take and  I got a reply that someone would phone me. Well, no one phoned me yesterday and right not it's 10:45 am and no call at all from them. I have no idea if I'm cut off and facing homelessness or I just need to give them some information they want to continue my benefits. Meanwhile, I have 21 cents in the bank and a maxed out credit card. I can't buy food to feed myself, and no one in the government gives a darn about this at all. A Good Day For a Change (AKA Coffee Outing)

The usual Thursday event yesterday, we went out on the north service road for coffee. It's a truck stop, but it's a big sized restaurant. I don't go out there any other day or time, so I don't have any idea if it has a time when there are a lot of people in it. But when we go, there is almost no one else in there. I have to say $3.85 for a Pop (Pepsi) is nuts, but coffee is the same price, and their coffee makes me ill - everyone else is fine with it, just not me. However the pop only gets one refill, not unlimited like the coffee does. I'll talk about the strange bill below. In any event, there was a new face at coffee when I got there. I'd met the fellow before, and he is nice to talk to. The one guy who has been going for years has not been there the last 2 times, and I'm totally OK with this. HOW TO FIX BLOGGER FROM DOUBLE SPACING LINES OF TEXT

When you click on the editor to type text, it changes to "Paragraph" instead of "Normal". This causes there to be a double space between lines. If your trying to do a list, this is a serious piss off. So you have to click where it now says "Paragraph" and set it back to "Normal". I've had it a couple times not stay, and had to select all then set it to Normal again. As well it puts in a leading space (indentation of 1 space) you may want to delete as well, or your list won't look quite right at the top. It used to stay where you put it, but now it just up and changes it to Paragraph for literally no reason - even if you first set it to Normal - you click and POOF it changes.

Freaking Pizza Time Was A Mistake

So I decided since I got some money in that I'd buy some pizza and have 2 days worth of pizza fun to chew on. See, I had a settlement show up in my email, and transferred it to my bank. So there I am eating the fancy pizza and saving the free one for tomorrow when I think, "I want coffee". So I fire up the Moka pot and the thing starts to piss coffee out the seal all over the burner and almost set off the smoke alarm - SIGH. So now I need a new Moka pot and since I got pizza, I no longer have enough money to get one. Coffee is very important to me. The ritual of making it every day, and the absolute pleasure of drinking it gives me a lot of joy. It's one of the greatest pleasures in my life - and my life is rather devoid of pleasure most of the time.
