New Bed Frame and Mattress

No, my pillow is not soaked in blood LOL - It does seem to be covered in dry blood in the photo for some reason. It's just a sweat statin. But that is not the point - the point is, it's a new bed. The frame is nice and solid, I had my doubts about it when it showed up, but it's rated for 600 lbs and I'm 332 lbs. So it should work. The mattress is a memory foam kind with no springs in it. The experts say they last 6 to 8 years. With my size I'm hoping for 3 years out of it. Would be very nice if it lasted longer however. The old style with springs started out at $500 and went up into the $1200 range. I am NEVER going to have $500 to spare, so that's out of the question. I think I paid about $400 for my last one 13 years ago. The foam top on it did not start to deform for a good 5 or 6 years, so I hope it's going to be longer lasting than 3 personally.
This is the waste from just the mattress. 2 garbage bags of plastic, and a tone of cardboard. I had to pry out the stables and rip off the take to make it fit for the recycling bin. The bed frame waste plastic covers filled another kitchen bag like this, The box was not nearly as big, so not a lot of cardboard, but it was taped up very much, and took some doing to get cleaned off. Under the bed you see my Pusheen collection safely stored away.

The handyman I got was great, he worked within my budget and did the job in a reasonable time. He was nice to talk to and I enjoyed his company. He sometimes works with his 3 sons as well. But for this he came alone. I have to say, he made short work of carrying out the old bed. There is no possibility of my even dragging it out, let alone carrying it like he did.

I did however have one hell of a time sending the e-transfer to him. First off I sent it to the wrong phone number, and thang the Goddess that the person on the other end of the line did not cash it in. I literally had not one clue how to cancel it and it took me a while to figure that out. Then I had not one clue how to edit the contact to correct the phone number. Both there very much not obvious and where hard to locate in the first place - neither is on the screen with the item I was trying to fix. I hate my banking app, it is terribly designed and crashes now and then. But I got the money to him easy enough. I felt vindicated when he had a bit of trouble figuring out how to put it in his bank LOL. It looked to me that his banking app was even worse than mine. They really need to make this things old person friendly.

I can tell you right now, I'm going to have a sore neck and back for a few days or so. Any slight change in how I sleep seems to do in my neck and back, and this is a hell of a big change.
