FIXING ONEDRIVE IN WINDOWS 10 AFTER AN UPDATE KILLS IT
OK now and then Windows 10 breaks OneDrive. It's a serious pain in the butt when it happens. If like me, you have everything linked to OneDrive, this fix is going to be a pain in the butt when it syncs. It WILL Make copies of a great deal of things and I have no idea why. It just keeps saying some crap about not being able to reconcile the file. Sigh. But here is what you do.
Run Command Prompt as Administrator. Being Windows 10 changed stuff in the start menu, you may have to search for it and it will come up as an app in the top of the search list and on the right will be an option to run as Administrator - do that.
Next enter the following commands:
taskkill /f /im OneDrive.exe
%systemroot%\SysWOW64\OneDriveSetup.exe /uninstall
%systemroot%\SysWOW64\OneDriveSetup.exe
After you do this you will want to restart the computer. Then you will have to click the icon for OneDrive and click Sign-in. It will then make copies of hundreds of files for no reason any rational human can explain to me. Just live with it and clean it all up after it's finished messing things up. If like me you have a large amount of files as I have the 1TB storage with them, it will be a LONG wait.
